Wow!  Same here!  Fascinating... We have so many things in common!

I agree.  But with stereo slides there is an extra factor thown in.
Even if you "print them out"  you will not get the same effect.

I was once showing stereo slides in a bridal show at the table
of a wedding photographer.  Naturally, everyone was impressed!  :-) One
person, totally amazed by the clarity and realism of these slides,
asked if large prints, like the framed 6x9 *feet* behind me, made from 
this picture, would look as good as the one that they were seeing in the 
viewer.  I told them, "no".  I tried to explain that the main factor 
contributing to the attraction that this image had to them was caused 
by the stereo effect, the fact that they were using both eyes to look 
at the picture.  That's not an easy concept to explain to those who
are unfamiliar with stereo...
