P3D Repost on Iloca
My original posts vanisished when the system was at 100% recently so
here is a recap. There had been several posts on Iloca 7Ps.
I purchased an original Iloca 7p camera off ebay recently which was
supposed to be Ex++ and recently serviced. When it arrived it was poor
to fair. There was a new flash sinc soldered on, the lenses were very
dirty and cloudy and there was shreaded film inside. I had a copy of
Harry Posters guide to stereo equipment and it told how to remove the
back (since this is a bottom loading camera) by removing the 4 screws
under the front leather. This was easy to do as the screws were on top
of the leather. I cleaned the shreaded film and cleaned the lenses as
best I could but there was bad internal cloudiness. I then tried and
tried to get a roll of film through but the sharp sprocket would just
chew up the film. I even had instructions with Pipers hints on cutting
the leader and careful film advancing. Luckilly the seller agreed to
take it back, saying that he was selling it for a friend and took his
word on its condition. But I just couldn't figure out if modern films
can actually go through these cameras. It almost looked like the film
sprockets had to be larger or spaced differently.
