P3D Re: Stereoscopic Video using Cyclop-3D

Hi everyone,

This message is for people interested in stereoscopic video. Geo-3D has
created an application that creates true stereoscopic movies using
normal 2D video sequences. The only requirement, on those 2D sequences,
is an horizontal displacement of the camera. The application was
primarily  developped for technical work using aerial video sequences
and has fonctionnalities to make 3D measurements and to interact with
GIS. We are thinking about making a light version of the application,
with basic 3D non-linear editing and playback. People would be able to
create their own 3D movies using their standard 2D camera without the
need of a special lens or twin camera. It would be made for PC (running
Windows 9x or NT) and would require the use of some stereo equipment
(currently Stereographics Crystal Eyes but we are looking for a less
expensive solution). Please let us know if such an application seems
interesting to you and if you have any suggestions regarding good
quality, not too expensive stereo equipment for PC.
