The third party software VueSmart from http://www.hamrick.com for the HP
PhotoSmart Scanner gives some additional functionallity not included in the
HP software e.g. batch scanning and scanning of unmounted slides. According
to the help file VueSmart is also able to read 30-bit or 36-bit data from
most other HP scanners. I have only used to software with the PhotoSmart
scanner and been quite happy with it. Color negatives are scanned and
converted without problems.
