P3D Re: eBay pricing & purchasing

I've been reading a lot of comments, pro & con, regarding the various
prices on eBay and whether they're "outrageous" or not.
First, eBay is an auction where a person bids what he's willing to pay
for an item. I must admit I personally bid too much for one of those
"beam splitter" adapters for disposable cameras. During my public
display of remorse for not winning the item, I received an offer from a
P3D members for the exact same item at less than my high bid.
Second, I purchased my first 3D camera (a Kodak) from a posting on S3D.
The listed price was $120.00. I later saw Kodaks listed in S3D for
$90.00. Did I feel "ripped off"? No, I was willing (i.e. I had the
money!) to pay the $120.00 and the person who sold it to me was very
nice. The camera works great and I'm very satisfied with my purchase.
After all, a Kodak in the hand gets the picture :-) :-)
Third, did I know George had an inventory of Realists and viewers?
Well, actually no, not until this thread started. Do I appreciate his
work on collecting, repairing and reselling these items? Certainly! I
also appreciate all the others on this list who have provided an
inventory of 3D items for the rest of us to purchase. Without them, I
think it would be hard to continue with our 3D hobby.
Lastly, for those bidding on items in eBay, make sure you know what
you're bidding on. It's as simple as that. If there's a book on
auction, make sure you've checked on its availability first. If you
have a web browser to bid on eBay, you also have the means at your
fingertips to perform a search. This is true for any on-line auction.
I saw a Dremel tool auctioned on Surplus Auction site that went for
$49.00. The same unit I just purchased at Lowe's for $29.00. So, mainly
it's a "let the buyer beware".
So, on that note, is the flash attachment for a Kodak Stereo worth the
$26.00 I just paid on eBay? More on that after I get it and try it out.
Regards,
Ron
