Comrades! Welcome to the capitalist system!
Perhaps y'all need to review the fundamentals of economic theory, but of
course thats an off list topic. But briefly, there is no one "fair" price
for anything in a free market. The price at any given moment reflects a
great many variables between buyers and sellers, and ethics are not solely
the responsibility of the vendor. There is no "best" deal, only the best
deal an individual can get at a particular moment in a particular context.
The universe is much larger than ebay, anyone who limits himself to the
ebay world will experience the unforgiving discipline of the market.
Knowledge is power, and will save one a great deal of money and grief (but
at the cost of time). And that's one of the reasons we're all on P3D. You
want to help the ignorant? Invite them to join the stereo community. In the
meantime, it's their money.
If you can't spare the time to study von Mises and the rest, I can
recommend a wonderful Depression era song by Milton Brown and his Musical
Brownies: "If you can't get five take two" (Allright, this is from the
sellers point of view, but it's got all the fundamentals. Good luck finding
it in today's music market!)
We're all bozos on this bus, so CAVEAT EMPTOR.
