Mmmm..my experience says that the ability of shops to sell 2nd hand "broken"
equipment is not restricted to use sterophiles.

My friend here at work bought a 2nd hand Hassellblad which he had to return for
repair after running a test roll. He then bought another 2nd hand lens that had to be 
returned because it wouldn't focus to infinity.. the shop owner said that they never
tested the cameras (other than a rudimentary eyeball) they just sold 'em and if they
buyer wasn't happy then they would return it. That's fine.. but what if the buyer
isn't competent enough to realise its the camera/lens at fault and not his own...
.. I certainly doubt that I'd have realised that there was something wrong with my
mates (non infinity focusing) lens !
