Football games are a great way to observe the Pulfrich effect mainly
because there is so much lateral movement, mostly by the players
themselves. Although sometimes what you get is pseudo-stereo. Since the
perception of depth in Pulfrich is achieved by differentials in movement
speeds across the screen, players moving faster than others will appear
to be at a different depth position than the relatively slower moving
players.

I do believe that any time we can improve the resolution of the image on
the screen, the Pulfrich effect (or any 3-D effect for that matter) is
enhanced. I would love to be able to produce a Pulfrich video using HDTV
resolution. Can you imagine the realism that would provide. I can't wait.
