Hi all (and Marvin),
Marvin Jones brings up an interesting point in his caution about
copyright protected films. Intellectual copyright is quite a can of
worms. We do have everything in place to clear copyright with most
studios (hence our ability to show films from non-commercial sources,
like our own collection and films from other archives). So obtaining
clearance to show films in our theatre is not as much of a problem as
obtaining rare or unusual 3D prints to show. Also, there are a few films
(and many early experiments) in stereoscopic cinema that would have
fallen into the public domain. These would be facinating to find,
preserve, project, etc.
