About a year ago, I would have fully agreed with this statement. But now I
have seen some moderate hyperstereo slides of landscape scenes, where the
effect was not "vulgar." Done right, the hyper will not be noticeable,
without "liliputism," but will add a nice sense of depth and distance to
the view. This effect is comparable to (as mentioned in a P3D thread some
weeks/months ago) the effect of looking at a grand view while traversing it
at some speed - as in a car or train.
But I will also say that 90% of the landscape stereoviews I've seen are
either too flat or too hyper - getting it right appears a fine art.
Perhaps Brewster never got to see any well done hyper shots. Chances are
that may have influenced his opinion.
