P3D projectors vs. viewers

hello,  I am thinking about purchasing a projector to project my Realist 
format slides, and was curious to know what are the main advantages, and 
disadvantages, to stereo projection?  I have a few lighted viewers, so 
I'm used to viewing slides that way.  Will I be satisfied with the 
projector?  Do 3D images look better on the big screen?  Any information 
would be helpful.  thanks.
