P3D picture quality/cost

I was raised in Chapel Hill, NC, the home of the eniac in 1948, the first
major effort to build a large-scale computer. It was used to compile the
census, and was by far and away the most powerful computer ever built to
that time. It occupied a two story building, over 100 feet deep by 50 feet
wide. Nowadays, the PC you have on your desk has more computing power than
NASA had when we landed three clowns on the moon. How can we possibly
project even a few years from now ? I feel it's safe to say that digital
quality will increase by some power of X, and price will drop by some
function of 1/2 X each year for our lifetime. Holography, for example,
might even become routine.
Regards,
Bob
