The Ohio Stereo Club held it's monthly meeting tuesday night. I asked
myself why I was driving 2 hours from Pittsburgh to Cleveland to see
slides of Pittsburgh steel mills that have since been torn down...and
sought comfort with the thought that Michael Chikiris was driving 2 1/2
hours from Pittsburgh to Cleveland to present slides of Pittsburgh steel
mills that have since been torn down. What did we learn? Molten steel is
very very very very very very HOT!!!
After splashing molten steel at us, Michael pounded the audience into
submission with menacing views of legendary Pgh. Steeler greats!
Asserting to Cleveland that their inept, pathetic, defecting
losers....the Browns...were no match against the mighty Steelers, the
Iron Curtain, the intimidating Black and Gold!!
I don't know.....I guess I'll never understand why neighboring cities
like Pittsburgh and Cleveland are rivals. People out west are weird! :-)
Anyway, everyone enjoyed Michael's slides and appreciated his unique
opportunity to capture these photos. During the break the crowd gawked
at various " show & tell " items like stereo cards, a Barrier
lenticular, and other 3-D propoganda. Dr. T was quiet and elusive.....I
sensed that he had not quite recovered from my last review. But T showed
his vulnerablilty when he asked me what I thought of the Barrier print.
While appearing to be intelligent, but having nothing intelligent to
say, I remarked something like, "a locus of imaging points equidistant
from other imaging points that occupy the same space.....". As I basked
in my own B.S.....Dr. T disappeared quicker than Kate Moss turning
sideways. We saw a few more slides in the open projector segment, talked
about future events and wrapped it up.
Dennis Petti, Karen and myself discussed some Clinton indescretions and
said our goodbyes. That gave me the idea for my next experiment.....the
Monica interview! I will watch the interview in Pulfrich video and
audio! Wearing the glasses and placing cotton in one ear, I am hoping to
see or hear anything that has some depth to it. Karen seems to think all
the corruption started way back when Eve was framed! Who
knows........Mark Dottle
