Please don't flame me for continuing this non topic thread:-) But there
is a method of recording for stereo called Stereo Bi-naural (SP?)
sound. It works by using a sculpture of a head with both ears carefully
sculpted. Microphones are placed where the eardrum would be, and the
entire assembly is used as the recording microphone.
The idea is that you will listen to the music with headphones. Sort of
like an ortho ortho arrangement, huh? It was used extensively by Lou
Reed in his recordings from the mid 1970s to the late 1980s. In my ears
it did seem to make a difference.
