What happened to 2000? Where is it going to be? West? I know that 1999 is
Green Bay.
Our club (Stereo NE) (
<http://www.ultranet.com/%7Ecopley/StereoNE>http://www.ultranet.com/~copley/
StereoNE/ ) hosted NSA twice in Manchester, NH I think about 10 years ago.
Hotels are so expensive around Boston. My cat club hosts a cat show every
year
and it is getting very hard not to lose money on the show. We need 15000
sq ft
in one room which limits you to about 8 hotels in NewEngland. Most of them
are
high priced like $200/night. Bed & Breakfasts do very well around here. We
found a good showhall that PHSNE (
http://<http://www.ultranet.com/>www.ultranet.com/~copley/PHSNE/ ) uses for
its
camera shows in Waltham, MA. It is a high school cafeteria. The down side is
that it is on the 2nd floor, and doesn't allow cats due to the health
department rules. It would be OK for the NSA trade fair as PHSNE fits 200
dealer tables in it. The two gymnasiums could be used for slide shows (at
least at night)( I forget about the windows). There are a number of hotels
nearby on Rt128. However, they are all over $200/night.
Then there is the Worcester Centrum Centre convention center. This was going
to cost our cat club $7000 for the weekend for half of the exhibit hall. The
hotels were under $100/night but were scattered around. We pulled out at the
last minute because the contract was scary and it is in a bad part of town so
is hard to get walk-in people to come.
