Yep, it sure could. That's why I offered him the option of a refund or an
exchange. But Malak chose to respond first by accusing me of being
disappointed in the price (even though I had e-mailed him asking for his
address minutes after the close and sent payment the very next day), and then
by accusing me of breaking his viewer. Yes, anyone can make a mistake. But I
sure wouldn't treat anyone like he treated me--and, I have no doubt, like he's
prepared to treat anyone else with a legitimate complaint. It's an inherent
problem in an on-line auction system, where the buyer necessarily has to send
money sight unseen and has no real recourse against the dishonest or pig-
headed seller. It's not just a problem for buyers. It's a problem for honest
sellers as well, when the environment of trust is polluted by guys like this.
Sorry, Greg, but it takes credibility away from all sellers in the community.
That's how this former e-Bay afficionado sees it. But I appreciate your
alternate point of view. Jim Norman
