I would like to thank Bill Walton for summarizing so well the history of
SSA and its activities in his comments of March 20th on this list. There
are numerous members on this forum who are members of SSA and who could
testify as well to the fun and benefits of belonging to this great
organization. As Bill mentioned, SSA is preparing a book that will feature
every member who enters this special event. The first product will be a B&W
publication featuring 3 entries and a short statement from each member.
This will be distributed free to members. The second publication will be in
full color and will be sold openly to anyone.

Whether or not someone joins now so she/he can be published or joins for
the fun of it, is immaterial, the main thing is to join and discover that
you have so much in common with other 3D enthusiasts who are interested to
see your stereo views as much as you are interested to see theirs.

Joining is easy. If you are actively doing any kind of stereo photography
and are a member of NSA just send me your real address so I can mail you an
info packet. And if you are not a member of NSA, it is just as easy, the
info packet includes also the registration materials for that organization. 

The cost is a bargain: only $10 per year if you are a member of NSA, plus
$26 to join NSA if you aren't already a member.

Incidentally, the deadline to submit materials for the book is May 31,
1999. But you have to be a member of SSA by then!
