P3D Re: the ">" (was barriers to entry)

So now we know how these symbols can creep in (perhaps logically but still
unexpectedly) and don't always mean what they seem, can someone please
translate those acronyms?

(Although its much more fun to make things up...I know that "RFC" means Radio
Free Cleveland, but what kind of propaganda would we be broadcasting there?)

I'm much too tired to think up anything for "SMTP" & "UUCP"....
