George is absolutely right.
The "paddle ball" sequence in "House of Wax" is one of the picture's
biggest failures because it violates basic principles of successful
stereo.
"Dial M" is a far superior picture in stereo terms.
Hitchcock was forced to use 3D for it and, reluctantly, he brought much
more sophisticated understanding of the process than did most of the
other film makers of his time.
Only "Kiss Me Kate" surpasses it in 3D terms.
