No, THAT'S a misrepresentation of what I said. I said that when those who
wanted to discuss digital 3D were forced off the list by the faction that
wasn't interested and wouldn't tolerate anything they weren't interested
in, that discussion of digital was stifled. There aren't usually more than
two or three messages a week in the digital digest, and that's on a GOOD
week! This is the effect of splintering off all discussion of any sub-topic
of the main topic area. Therefore, all this talk of splitting the list up
into many, many minutely-focused sub-topics doesn't serve anyone well. The
subtopics are usually so tightly focused that they don't generate much
discussion on their own, and the readers of the "general" list are deprived
of the information and discovery that can only come from a rich and
diversified subject matter.
