I remember a similar thing happening in TV. When color TV first
came in, the BIG events were things like the Rose Parade, etc.
Also - Walt Disney's program was "The Wonderful world of COLOR!".
And of course there was the NBC peacock.
I forget when the phrase "The following program is presented in living color"
finally was dropped. You know, it just occurs to me this might have been
an intentional marketing tool since otherwise those people watching on
old black and white tvs would otherwise have not known - "Dang it,
Martha - we gotta get one of them there color tvs!".
