P3D Travelling with a twin-rig

I'm going to by flying from Boston to Bermuda next month, and I'd love to
take my twin-rig along. It's two Ricoh point-and-shoot cameras
electrically coupled with a switch mounted on a hinged wooden bar.
Unfortunately, I'm nervous that airport security will see the wires and bar
with a "homemade" look, and immediately suspect foul play.

Has anyone done any air travel with a home made twin rig? Has anyone ever
had any trouble with security over the appearance of a rigged camera pair?
I was thinking perhaps I should make sure both cameras are unloaded, so I
can open them up for the security folks. I'm not sure if that would be
enough for them, though.

Any thoughts?

Thanks very much,

-pd
