Well, I try to fly with my cameras empty. I generally ask for visual
inspection so I don't have to run film through the X-ray. I know it's not
supposed to fog film...call me paranoid...

I have had airport security ask to inspect stereo cameras, although only
once was I asked to open the camera. (No film inside that time--but they
saw this big metal block in my bag on the xray and were curious.) The last
time I flew I had a loaded camera, the officer seemed to be satisfied by
looking through the viewfinder (and my sincere, non-threatening demeanor
;-) )

You probably won't have a problem convincing them your objects are cameras
however. Just don't make any stupid jokes.

Tony
