P3D Nimslo Underexposure

For what it is worth I just got a 'new' Nimslo and noticed that the
shots I took were constantly underexposed in low light.  In bright light
they were fine but every low light shot was underexposed.  The effect is
pretty consistent unlike Mark's erratic exposure. Would filters work for
this or should I experiment with different batteries?
