P3D Jumping Through Hoops

Consider the foolishness I have put myself through to attain acceptable
exposures with my Nimslo and twin XA2 rig......each of which
underexposes over 1 stop. I have used colored filters over the Nimslo
sensor, thought about the shot in terms of a black and white image,
account for the auto-exposure, the composition using center weighted
metering, probable f stop selected by the camera....oops, better
recompose to eliminate infinity using this probable f stop, or use a
tripod, a wheatgrain bulb...aaaAAAA....what in the hell am I doing!!??
I grabbed my Realist and Sekonic meter ( and I even know how to use the
meter:-) and shot 2 rolls of Velvia at Put-In- Bay last weekend. WOW!! "
am I good or what!?" I thought. I discarded ONE shot and mounted the
rest!! My next step is an RBT. Until then I'll stick with the
Realist......I'd rather spend my time thinking about the image, not the
cameras reaction to the image! Mark Dottle
