P3D large format and beam splitters

The way I figure it, whether or not a beamsplitter works, is dependant
on the angle of view in the horizontal axis. If a beamsplitter works for
a 50mm lens covering a 36mm film width, the same splitter will work for
a 125mm lens covering 90mm or 176mm lens covering 5in. Where 50/36 =
x/90 and 50/36 = x/127 where 127=5".  (50x90)/36=125  and
(50x127)/36=176.
