Thanks for the vote of confidence Dr.T! Why am I not entering folios and
exibitions? ( at least for now) These are my thoughts:
1) I am still learning. Although I became fairly proficient as a 2D
photographer, the more I learn, the more there is to learn about stereo.
I do not want an acceptance or an award to be a "fluke." I must feel
confident (like you) that I can produce consistently great photos. I'm
getting there, but I have some limitations to overcome.
2) I'll argue this over and over...." exotic places result in exotic
pictures" and these pictures seem to win competitions. I have limited
time and resources to travel now but I am planning to visit many places
in the future. For our "Wheels" assignment, I'm stuck at home shooting
Tonka Toy tabletops while you are visiting H Ford Museum! Sure, I have a
chance ( and yes I'm making excuses:-)) but I must create an exceptional
tabletop to compete with an amazing place like a museum. So you see, I
must place myself around great sights to increase my yield of great
photos.
3) Another hobby of mine ( music) consumed most of my time. I've been
fortunate to have played some large venues and almost had a chance to
"turn pro". Photography has always taken the back seat until
recently.....now I'm beginning to shift things the other way!
So I will keep trying to innovate with stereo, always trying new things,
learning from the masters like Dr.T etc. But tell me George....do I
stand a chance pacing with a guy who shoots 63 rolls, sleeps 3 hours,
teaches, travels, cuts apart every stereo object within reach to a 7p or
larger aperature, heats the house with TDC projectors and Red Buttons,
writes books and enters every folio, club, and stereo publication he can
find?!? Exactly!......of course I can't.:-)

The tortise of stereo........crawling faster, but with a limp :-)
