No offense intended, but, does it really matter?  We have two Reveres
and I can detect no difference through the viewfinder of either,
regardless of the position of the parallax corrector.  The possibility
does exist that they are both broken, but either way it doesn't seem to
have any effect on their usability.

Of course if you ever intend to sell the camera then fixing it might
become an issue affecting its value.
