I agree with Ron Beck's recent posting.
As for his bell curve, it appears that my understanding of simple
photographic science is at the lower end, right next to your Great Aunt.
Last time I did any posting to this list, I had Dr. T. typing ALL CAPS in
the subject line.  Face it.  I'm a photo-dummy.
That's why I use point and shoot cameras.  That's why my Loreo gets dusted
off more frequently than my Realist... though neither frequently as you
might like.

My appreciation for good photography may put me up the curve a bit.  But
knowing a pretty good shot when I see it... is not the same as being able to
take a shot like it.

Perhaps that's why I enjoy collecting, much more than taking.
