P3D Shaking the norm?... Yeah, sure!
OK, I feel the urge to write more about this. Al Razutis
congratulates Harold Baize for putting images from the "Burning
Man" (whatever that is!) in his web page and asks for more
"alternative content 3D" which is normally not discussed in
photo-3d or in stereo clubs.
But the way I see it, Harold jumps in the first chance to record
something unusual. We, stereo photographers, are attracted to that
kind of stuff. Unusual, weird, or just recording history. How many
of us would like to go back and record Woodstock (the original) in 3D?
Or the assassination of President Kennedy? I have seen video pictures
of army tanks entering through the gates of the University in Athens
in 1974 to stop the student revolution against the military rulers at
the time. Now I wish I had been around with a stereo camera!
Disturbing? Yes... but I would just be the guy taking pictures, not
the one risking his life in the first row.
Burning Man? Sure! As long as I get some nifty stereo pictures out
of it! I'll be the first in line!!! Is that "shaking the norm?"
I don't think so!
And then Boris comes and talks about HIS alternative content images!
Ha, ha, ha!!! Give me a break! :-) I just came back for Detroit.
They showed the accepted slides from the Detroit International Exhibition.
Boris won the "Creative Award" (used to be called "Contemporary") with
his image "The Dream". That's a picture of a naked lady with weird
light and a bunch of hands flashed all around her. Plus, he got ALL
acceptances. Best record than anybody else. And it is not just Detroit.
Exhibition after exhibition, Boris is rounding up all the awards.
So who is shaking what norm? The guy (Boris) is being accepted with
open arms by the stereo photographic establishment!!!! :-) They
love his work! Come on Boris! You can do better than that!!! Show
us some really disturbing images. Get zero acceptances from the
establishment. Only then you will be a real ARTIST!!! :-) :-)
