This would be very easy to fix. You can buy a 1/4-20 t-nut and
install it on the bottom of your viewer. There are 2 kinds. One
has three sections of the flange rim cut and bent down so they
form a staple type affair. The other has a round flange with
little screw mounting holes drilled in it. That't the one I would
recommend. You would have to put it in a place where it would
not obscure the image. Drill a hole that would accommodate the
main sleeve for the 1/4-20 threads and three little mounting
holes and you're done.
