P3D Bill Walton/Bill Davis Wild Mustang Memorial Prize
- From: Bill C Walton <bill3dbw3d@xxxxxxxx>
- Subject: P3D Bill Walton/Bill Davis Wild Mustang Memorial Prize

The BWBDWMMP is an excellent idea and could turn into a great fund raiser
for NSA. But I think the competition should be expanded so that those
who make stereo slides can also participate. I recall about three years
ago when one of the most prolific P3D posters announced on this forum
"Look for my wonderful slides (his words) in the NSA Auction at Richmond"
This didn't happen and perhaps allowing slide makers to participate in
the BWBDWMMP will encourage him to contribute some of his images to the
NSA Auction. Stereo slides will sell in the auction. I sold one for $40
in the Green Bay NSA Auction.
I think it would be nice if Bill Davis writes a small article for STEREO
WORLD on this subject, since the Auction really could stand some
publicity. Also once the 2000 Convention web site is fully operational a
mention the BWBDWMMP would be appropriate there.
Sounds like Bill Davis already has a first class trophy for the winner.
I would like to "sweeten that pot" a tad. I bought a 1999 Mustang, the
35th Anniversary Model. Ford sent all 1999 Mustang owners a wonderful
(IMO) book titled "Mustang Chronicles" that covers all Mustangs from 1964
1/2 to 1999 and a set of 3 CDs. The CDs cover music of the 1960s, the
1970s and the third one covers 1980s/1990s. I personally haven't liked
any music, except Polkas and Theremin music, since late 1959, but the CDs
are supposed to be Music that Mustang Drivers like to listen to. They
come with a Genuine Leather (it says) carrying case embossed with the
Anniversary Mustang Logo. I will donate the set of CDs as part of the
prize of the BWBDWMMP contest.
What we are really looking for is a "stereolanthropist" (new word) who
will provide a restored 1965/66 Mustang Fastback to be used as the first
prize in this contest. Since there seems to me several " stereo
millionaires"" who participate in P3D, we may have to be selective when
it comes to accepting the Mustang for the prize. I will leave that
decision to Bill Davis, since his upside down Mustang was after the one I
had.
There may be others out there who have Mustang related items they would
like to donate for the 1st place prize. If so let Bill Davis or me know.
