Rini eyepieces are very well known among amateur astronomers, are very good
values, and generally give good views at a telescope. But they are
assembled from surplus optics and are not the product of a lens designer
who optimizes each surface. If you feel that an eyepiece at a telescope
can as well be used as a slide viewer, an x-ray viewer, a microscope
eyepiece, a magnifier, etc.; then these will be a good bet. But if you are
very picky about distortion, chromatic aberration, etc., then regard the
purchase as a gamble -- an inexpensive gamble.
