Mr. Sage says:

>If all those pieces are art, then the brick on any
>building is art. A pile of dirt and weeds in my yard is art. The ever
>changing image on my computer screen is art. The hole in my jeans is
>art. etc. etc. I could wrap my dog in aluminum foil, throw some green
>paint on him, hang him in a tree, and call him art. "Space Dog in Tree".

Maybe all of the above is Art , maybe it is not.

Al Razutis says:
>I think it is abundantly clear that ART has a lot to do with intention. It
>has something to do with expressing ideas, perceptions, contexts,
>inspirations, and expressing these in contradictory (even ugly!) manners,
>and that which upsets the norm.

Intentions. Art must be an expression of the soul, an artistic soulful
expression of "And it is so"

Premise:
All political, art critics, and museum curators aside, there is only ONE
chord that is struck when viewing art, mine. I will not try to articulate
what art is for that is the art critic in me which is not the point to my
point.
My personal definition of Art : ART is the degree to which it transforms me
from an animal to a "human being" with the highest level of art being
"beyond words". If enough individual chords are struck, "Popular art", if
enough chords of people in influential positions are struck " Critically
Acclaimed" art. We need the media and museums and "ARTS" in all its
incantations to allow us to have access to variety and to our own ability to
grow artistically. It is the critic in each of us that throws out the bad
and absorbs the good. It is the critic in us that makes us want to convince
others why our cord sounds the best!

MY ART:
Each one of us is an artist unto ourselves, from here forward referred to
the first person as "MY ART". Each of us struggles everyday to find the
THING that makes us know we are on OUR beam, we know we are alive. If we can
share this with others, each chords blend to form the human song called "The
ARTS"

So, in essence, Art is quite simple really and each of us must find it in
some way.
Stand in front of a mirror and look into your own eyes. Ask yourself "What
is MY art?" Ask yourself that everyday. Go to museums, what TV, go into your
backyard on a day when it seams the right thing to do and find "ART", It is
there. Art is everywhere. This I know because it is so?

For me, stereo photography is just one avenue to "MY ART". Dung may be art
to another, but I just do not want to come to the party and I do not want to
strike my chord when I experience it, but I guess I will pay for it on the
chance that maybe my song will be next on the curators jukebox.

I had fun writing this, its intent is to share a soulful expression of My
ART. Now back to what I do best, making a mess.
