P3D Moon Illusion

Hi,

Richard Koolish sent me the following link about the moon illusion. It
turns out to be an article prepared early in 1999 and has been available
on the internet since then. The author updated it on January 6th after
hearing about the recent article claiming to have solved the illusion.
If this illusion intrigues you at all, this is a must read. The author
makes the comment that the recently published article puts back the
public's understanding of the phenomena by over 900 years!!!

I wonder how far back it put the public's understanding of stereograms,
having used that bogus illustration of their theories in the form of a
stereogram?
