As perhaps the only former Stereoscopy Editor (after Gordon) on this list, I
feel compelled to throw in a few comments.

Getting a suitable issue out was a major task, even ignoring the production
and mailing aspects. The difficulty was producing a 32p. magazine which was
more than just a collection of reprints of the country magazines.

About 1/2 of the articles that I published in my one year [1+ calendar years
since I was always behind :-( ], were reprints of especially good articles
from limited distribution or non-English magazines. I had the invaluable
assistance of the French and Sidney stereo societies and Paul Milligan to get
out the material. Without Paul, the issues would have never been produced.
About 1/4 of the pages were Society news and applications. The other 1/4th
was original contributions (with Paul's help once again). Many required
heavy editing because of style or length, but had useful and interesting
content.

This was all before general availability of access to the Internet, which
really changes lots of things for publications, as discusssed recently on
this list.

At the time, I was working 5 days out of town and also editing a monthly
bicycle magazine. I resigned from both editing jobs to maintain/regain my
sanity. With a reduction in my other workloads I would probably volunteer
again, despite the efforts required. I met a lot of 3D people from around
the world and learned a lot, which is what the ISU is all about.
