I often get the impression that the "reduced height" mounts
are not well understood. Think of it this way: How many times
have we heard people complain about the "portrait" shape of
Realist format images? Well, it is easy to get a landscape
format image from your Realist--just use a "reduced height"
Spicer mount!
Also, take a close look at your mounted slides. How many
have too much sky? Something distracting in the background
at the top of the image? Little blades of grass or other
objects in the foreground that interfere with setting the
window properly? These problems can often be improved or
fixed completely quite easily with a "reduced height" or
"landscape" 5P mount. I would estimate that in an average
Gamma folio of 15-17 slides, I typically see at least 1
or 2 that could be improved with the vertical cropping
possible with the 5P-RH mount. Good cropping cam make a
big difference!
