Hi Abram,
Thanks for posting a copy of this message to me. I've been kind of busy
lately so haven't been reading as much.
The animations had been online for so long, I took them down with fairly
recent web updates. I suppose I could make another set with better
images.
I can imagine that demonstrating the stereo window with a slide
projector is quite difficult! It's a constant element when editing
digital images on a computer. It's very easy to do and the animation was
made by placing each image in a separate window, and manually dragging
the windows smaller than the image so a scroll bar appeared. Then I made
screen captures as I slid the image within what was visible of the
window frame. Done on the desktop or in a graphics program, it's very
easy to observe the image moving through the window.
If I can find a better image to work with I might make another demo of
this feature since it's really a fundamental item. Actually it could be
dealt with in a lot more detail than the simple animations I had before.
I'll be happy to provide the origina animations to anyone requesting
copies. I do have copies here somewhere. They could be sent by email
attachment.

The choice was somewhat random from images that were currently before
me. They had been taken with my $4 home built stereo rig using two
thrift store cameras clamped onto a bit of aluminum angle material. I
went out shooting water scenes to test and develop the skill of
triggering two cameras at once manually.
I eventually broke one of the cameras when opening the back lid, the
plastic hinge broke. Due to the low quality lenses, I didn't repair the
hinge, though a piece of black tape would work for a few minutes...
Thanks for the thought. If I cook up another example soon, I'll notify
the list of the new images.
Sincerely,
