P3D How important is mounting?

I'll go as far to say that good mounting is as important ( if not more
important) than the image itself! I can speak from personal experience
regarding OSPS competitions. I've had 2 first place slides where the
subjects were very ordinary ( a bicycle wheel, and a plane propeller)
but my meticulous mounting made these winners. I moved the chips around
many times ( in RBT's) until the images were just right. In fact, the
adjustments were so critical that I used tape tabs and the pins to
assure the chips wouldn't move. I don't do this on every image, but
after awhile you learn to recognize which images can be greatly enhanced
with some mounting effort.
