Smaller at 400 ASA. I think you must have figured out
by now, that you can correct for the underexposure 
problem (assuming it's consistent) by adjusting the
camera's ASA setting, a bit lower than the film ASA
rating.

Another possible solution is to keep the camera in
a lighted environment for a few hours before using the
camera. This is so the light sensor can get light
adapted. They have varying degrees of light memory.
