DrDave, let's backtrack for a second. You made the following
statement earier:

>>I see the window as fixed no matter if it is in a viewer,
>>projected, or prints. This window is at the surface in prints
>>or the screen in projection. The image moves through this
>>window.

And I asked you:

>>And where is [the window] in the viewer?

To which you replied:

> At the surface of the mount, of course.

Here is the problem: The surface of the creen and the surface
of the paper are physical surfaces. You can see the image going
through this physical (real) surface. When you view a slide in
a viewer, the window is a black border. It does not have a
physical location. You view the scene with respect to this
border.

Assume that the scene is a scenic with infinity included and not
real close objects. Instead of mounting this slide with the
window located "at 7 feet", I push the window back, closer to
infinity. Instead of seeing the mountains get closer to me, I
see the stereo window getting bigger as it is being pushed
further towards infinity. What do you see in this case?
