Dennis Petti supplied and manned his own audio console during the show.
The cable hookups were " stealth" ....no visible wires could be seen. I
took a few steps forward to check out the audio gear. Dennis was
undoubtedly in control of the mix......the console stretched across the
table to the likes of an air traffic control system. Dennis was landing
planes at Laguardia, clearing tarmacs at LAX, and running the OSPS audio
while using the gooseneck lamp to check out a few anaglyphs from the new
SI issue during the show. Did it sound good? Yes it did......but I
explained to Karen my techniques of creating an artificial stereo sound
stage using one speaker.....a technique Dennis was not
implementing......but damn him if it didn't sound just fine anyhow!! The
console was unfamilar to me....it was called a BFI board. In my
area....BFI is a garbage company that services roll-off dumpsters. I'm
not sure if BFI is national or local to the Pittsburgh area. Perhaps
they have diversified into electronics but who am I to criticize? :-)
They are a very reliable waste management company as I speak from
experience. More to follow...............................Mark Dottle
