I too have, and am happy with the Scanmaker X6. For scanning in prints, it
works great. If you want to scan in Realist transparencies, get the light
panel, and your in business. However, just remember the limitations of the
resolution, 600x1200 dpi. It's good enough if you just want to scan in you
slides for the web, but if you want to print them out, the resolution
really falls down. The prints look good to the naked eye, but look at a
print(s) through a Holmes style viewer, and the pixelation really shows up.
I guess there's no replacing a dedicated slide scanner. (at 2500+ dpi)
