Pixar not Lucas. Furrfu! It's bad enough trying to get people to
realize that Toy Story and A Bug's Life weren't made by Disney
(they're just the money), mixing in Lucas will really confuse things.

The other ammusing Toy Story toy story involved Slinky Dog. Pixar
couldn't find an original when they made the first movie so they based
the character on what they could remember. No one really knew what
sort of reception Toy Story would get when it was released. When it
was a huge hit Slinky wasn't prepared and didn't have the Slinky Dog
(which had been out of production for years) available at the toy
stores. They lost out on all the sales the other toy companies were
getting. They made sure they were ready for the second movie, and I
think they based it on the character, not the original.

Someone at Mars (makers of M&Ms) thought that ET looked like a
horrifying monster and would scare little kids, so they didn't all
M&Ms to be used in the movie. M&Ms were in the original book. This
movie was what sent Reese's Pieces into the big time.
