While the topic is hot here is a small contribution of work in progress:

I recently bought a Topcon dual cable release on e-bay. One end is 1/16" longer than the other, but both ends are adjustable for length, so I should be able to match them. Haven't tried it yet on my two Nikormats. This is a beautiful dual release.

For backup, I bought two air bulb releases and connected them together to one of the squeeze bulbs using a tee. This I found at a Robart, a model airplane supply house. The size is for 1/8" OD, 1/16" ID tubing. Again I haven't tried it with two cameras yet. This one is NOT adjustable but inherently balanced for force, instead of stroke. This requires that the release tensions be the same in each camera.

I finally got a perfect roll through my new FED stereo camera. The trick was to tape up the back cover seams using black masking tape to avoid light leaks. Also, unwind the take-up knob by 1/2 turn before each crank advance. Also, use 100 speed film instead of 400. Also, don't even think of releasing pressure on the rewind button on the bottom while rewinding or you may strip out perfs or jam the camera. The payoff was 20 pairs of 7-perf sharp photos, perfectly exposed. I mounted them in Spicer mounts using Dave Kesner's method.

See you in Mesa
