Thanks, I'll keep an eye out for one when I'm out scrounging...

I have a unit similar to a tilt-o-mite, and until today, it never
worked.

I bought a battery ($10 at Radio Shack on special order) and a replacement
capacitor, and it still failed to work.

Today, in a tinkering mood, I took the useless guts out of the folding
flashgun and wired in a regular nine volt battery. It works! I'll
put a push-button in the circuit and use it for those tripod shots on
bulb setting. This thing should work ok after being completely
immersed in water in a caver's coverall pocket - that's what I'm aiming
for.
