Robert J. Vaughan (p3d 43, 8 Apr 2000): .... I have myopia
requiring a correction of about -5 diopters and my glasses are
made of the high index plastic .... So everything I look at
that has red and blue colors appears to have depth...

Me too... (as Peter Davis, Robert Cruickshank, Peter
Zuijlekom).

I have about -5 diopter glasses and I see these depth
effects, which are just a variation on the chromostereopsis
effects which can occur without any glasses, but then arising
from the optical components of the eye, which can act as color
dispersing prisms, as do glasses.

I indeed also see Chromadepth effects with my glasses in
pictures intended for Chromadepth (but less pronounced than
with the Chromadepth glasses).

BTW, did you recommand moderate myopia to your friends?
It means having a build-in stereoscope which is available
by putting off your glasses.
