Re: [photo-3d] Stereo Mounting

I'm getting excited now with all the testimonials
about the SAM. Its like when I was waiting for my
RBT S1. I put everything on hold (and missed some
great opportunities). I just want to put a word
in for mounting without the SAM. I started out
with slip in mounts which were very quick, once I
got a film cutter to make sure my cuts were
square, though some are able to cut square with
scissors. I was able to mount a roll in about 20
minutes. The slip in mounts are great for quick
viewing to help cull out the bad ones, and are
reusable. The problem with slip in mounts are the
left over bits of paper that almost seam to
regenerate even after you thought you got them
all. Then after experimenting with Realist metal
mounts, Permamounts, spicer mounts, and EMDE and
Albion mounts, I fell in love with the RBT
mounts.
Now that I'm getting the SAM, I'll be able to go
back to the Spicer mounts for most of my mounting,
and save time and money in the long run.
For those of you who are thinking of going in debt
to get a SAM, or an RBT for that matter, take your
time. There is so much to learn, using the all
manual cameras, and the other mounting systems,
and getting into the debt habit is a bad path to
go down. Too much debt will rob much (not all:)
of the pleasure out of any hobby.
