A Sputnik.
The format is square, but there are mounts for vertical or horizontal
rectanglar cropping.
Exposure shouldn't be a problem on any camera, unless you're in
rapidly changing lighting. Meter the scene, set the camera, and leave
it alone.
Focus can be a problem on the Sputnik, but I've either used the
hyperfocal distance for the aperture the camera is set at or I focus
with another camera (it it's my K1000SE I'm also using it as a meter)
and transfer the distance setting to the Sputnik.
A Sputnik costs far less than a RBT ($200-300 for the camera and then
you build or buy a viewer), and the quality is better than anything
you can get from any 35mm camera. Having 3.6 times the film area is a
huge advantage.
Not many people project MF stereo, but a few do and others are working
on figuring out how to make it easier.
