[photo-3d] Next step from Realist?

I've been a mostly satisfied Realist user for a number of years. I'm
extremely happy with the quality of the best results I've gotten, but I'm
frustrated about three things:
1) Format: the narrow format of the images makes it harder to compose good
shots of some subjects, because it's difficult to avoid having near objects
be clipped by the window.
2) Speed of use: having to focus and set exposure all the time makes it
hard to get spontaneous shots
So I'm thinking of what my next step should be. In particular, I'm
wondering if a wider format, like 7-perf., my solve my main problem. I've
put one roll through a FED B-O-Y. I was fairly satisfied with the results,
but I don't like having to guess the distance all the time to set the focus.
I'm wondering if a Belplasca would be suitable as a kind of "wider
Realist". Any thoughts on that?
Also, is John Slivon still doing the 7-perf Realist conversions? That
might be worthwhile.
I'd love to jump to an RBT, but that's not in the budget for
now. (Probably a Belplasca isn't either.)
So what's the next step from a Realist?
